Jai Ram Thakur dedicates project worth crores for Sundernagar Vidhan Sabha area

Shimla/Sundernagar : Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones and inaugurated various developmental projects worth about Rs 45 crore in Sundernagar Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district through video conferencing from Shimla today.Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Sundernagar-Bina road to be constructed at a cost of Rs 7.18 crore, Horticulture Rest House at Harabag to be built by spending an amount of Rs 2.85 crore, additional accommodation of PWD Rest House Sundernagar to be completed at a cost of Rs 3.97 crore and of augmentation of Lift Irrigation Scheme for Sundernagar town to be completed by spending an amount of Rs 22.24 crore, which would benefit about 21,000 people of 11 wards of the town.Jai Ram Thakur also inaugurated 19.75 meter long span bridge over Bella Khud constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.02 crore, new building of Horticulture Department built at a cost of Rs. 1.04 crore and improvement and expansion of Lift Drinking Water Scheme Kalauhad constructed at a cost of about Rs. 3.03 crore. This would benefit over five thousand population of 48 habitations of the area.While addressing the virtual rally from Shimla, Chief Minister said that developmental projects worth Rs 500 crore were being executed in Sundernagar Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district. He said that these projects include Rs. 200 crore schemes of Jal Shakti department and Rs. 100 crore projects of PWD etc. He said that Indoor stadium was also being constructed in Sundernagar by spending an amount of Rs 12 crore. The work of Rs. 12 crore on Mother Child Hospital building was also in progress in the area, he added.Jai Ram Thakur said that all the developmental projects of which foundation stones was laid by him today must be completed within the stipulated time period. He said that the State Government has also opened an ITI at Nehri besides opening PWD Sub Division at Salapar in Kangoo. He said that paucity of funds would not come in way of development so that the people could harp the benefits of development.
Chief Minister said that today the nation was safe in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that it was on this day in 1999, that the brave son of the State Captain Vikram Batra laid down his life while fighting the Pakistani infiltrators in Kargil. He paid homage to this brave son of the soil. He said that India also gave a befitting reply to China for its misadventure in Dhoklam valley. Jai Ram Thakur said that the State at one stage was about to become Corona free, but the number increased sharply due to large number of people of the State coming back home from different parts of the country. He said that the people of the State need not to worry as the Government was fully prepared to meet out any eventuality. He directed the officers of ensuring that unspent money must be diverted towards developmental projects so that funds do not go unutilized.Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said that it was honour for the people of Mandi district to have Chief Minister of the State from their district. He said that the Lift Water Supply Scheme for Sundernagar would provide twenty four hours drinking water to the people of the Sundernagar area. He said that the Rest House at Harabag in Sundernagar would also give a boost to tourism activities in the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for effectively tackling Coronavirus in the State.MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth crores of rupees in the area. He said that the present tenure of the State Government has proved a boon to the people of the district in general and for people of Sundernagar area in particular. He said that it was due to the concern of the Chief Minister that work on all developmental projects in the Vidhan Sabha area was going on in fast pace. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area.Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister J.C. Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. R.N. Batta and Engineer-in-Chief PWD Bhavan Sharma were present at Shimla, where as Deputy Commissioner Mandi Rugved Thakur, SP Mandi Gurudev Sharma and other officers were present at Sundernagar on the occasion.
