HPFAS Trainee officers call on Governor

Shimla : 20 trainee officers of Himachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Service (HPFAS) called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan today. These trainee officers are undergoing training for about 10 months at Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Shimla.
While interacting with them, the Governor said that they have an important role in dealing with financial matters for which they should adopt new technology. He said that accountability was also very essential being in the public domain.
He congratulated them for their new venture and asked to work with more dedication and honesty with a professional approach.Shri Arlekar said that while implementing the development process, there were need to change our mind set so that maximum people could get the benefit of the welfare activities.
He said that we all were fortunate that we were living in a beautiful hill State which was known for its natural beauty and healthy atmosphere. “We must know the potential and generate the revenue resources for which young minds can contribute in a positive direction”, said the Governor.
Jyoti Rana, Additional Director HIPA apprised that the training induction would be in two parts of including five months each. She said that after successful completion of training, they have to pass the examination.Only successful candidates in both parts would be appointed by the Finance Department as Section Officer (Finance & Accounts) in any Govt. department/organisation of the State, he added.
He said that they were assigned various duties in the departments/organisations including finance related matters, issue related to AG Office, matters pertaining to Rules and Regulations, department specific matters and any other matter which may be assigned by respective HOD.Vikas Gupta, Course Director, Joint Director HIPA were also present on the occasion.
