Jai Ram Thakur launches Virtual Platform for Real Time Power Data Access and Approvals at HPSLDC

 

Shimla : While launching the Virtual Platform for Real Time Power Data Access and Approvals at Refurbished HP State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) at Totu suburb of Shimla today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that this Centre would go a long way in regulating the power grid of the region. He said that the Centre would also help in realizing the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘One World, One Sun, One Grid’. Chief Minister said that when our Prime Minister gave a call of complete shutdown for five minutes on 5thApril, this year, everyone was speculating that this would cause a grid failure. He said that nothing happened and the credit of it goes to the effective management and regulation of power grid.Jai Ram Thakur said the present State Government in 2018 had announced State Load Dispatch Centre as an independent Authority and since then the Centre has been playing a major role in developing an integrated IT solution for scheduling and dispatch, energy accounting, billing collection & distribution and open access management.Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh has distinction of being the Power State of the country as out of the total 40,000 MW hydro power available in the country, Himachal Pradesh has about 27,000 MW hydro power potential. He said that out of this as many as 10,600 MW stands harnessed and steps would be taken to harness the remaining potential at the earliest. He said that the endeavour of the State Government was to make Himachal Pradesh most developed State of the country, despite being a small State.He said that our National Grid was the biggest Synchronous Grids of the World which has four lakh MW power producing machineries, over one crore transmission and distribution lines and 28 crore consumers. He said that 39 load dispatch centres including Himachal Pradesh State Load Dispatch Centre, were providing best services with dedication and commitment.Jai Ram Thakur said that despite being a State with difficult geographical conditions and topography, the State has distinction of having cent percent electrified villages. He said that over 23 lakh domestic consumers were being provided effective power supply through about one lakh kilometre transmission lines. He said that for this over 30,000 electricity sub stations have been established. Additional Chief Secretary MPP and Power Ram Subhag Singh said that the HPSLDC was paying a key role in ensuring effective and uninterrupted power supply in the State. He said that some of the best brains of HPSEB Ltd. were providing best services to the State in this Centre.Managing Director HPSLDC Sunil Grover welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed various activities of the Centre. He said that the Centre was undertaking the economic dispatch of electricity from the generating stations to various load centers, including the on-line real time monitoring and control of supply of electricity in the area of supply.CMD Power System Operation Corporation Limited, Govt. of India KVS Baba and Member Secretary Northern Region Power Committee Naresh Bhandari also shared their views on the occasion.Executive Director of Northern Regional Load Dispatch Centre Er. N. Nallarasan presented vote of thanks.BJP leader Dr. Pramod Sharma, MD HPSEB Ltd. R.K. Sharma, Chief Engineer SLDC Rajiv Gupta were present on the occasion among others.
