Chandigarh : Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij said that our government does not want to interfere in the religious matter of Sikhs. He said that our intention is not to politicize the issue of Sikhs. Our government want to begin the election process at the earliest and the government want the elected representatives to form their Adhoc Committee as soon as possible and only one person among the elected representatives will be made Patron.
Sh. Vij was speaking during the discussion regarding the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Amendment Bill, 2022 in the winter session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Amendment Bill, 2022 has been passed in the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha today.
He said that on July 14, 2014, the Congress Government had brought this act but many things were silent in it, there was nothing mentioned about elections. To conduct its elections, Justice H.S. Bhalla has been appointed as Commissioner to take further action regarding its elections. Sh. Vij cautioned that the appointment of Justice H.S. Bhalla is being questioned by opposition while Justice H.S. Bhalla has been appointed to conduct the elections at the earliest.
Sh. Vij said that RSS teaches nationalism, love and equality and we keep only active people in the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. He said that our intention is clear and we are working with a clear mind. He said that elections will be held and the people will decide about it. The opposition should trust the people. He said that I have full faith that the Sikh society will elect only those people who fulfill the conditions.
Significantly, “Proyided further that all the forty one members so nominated by the Government shall elect their President, Senior Vice Presidenf Junior Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and six members, who shall be the members of the Executive Board of the Committee in its first rneeting to be convened and presided over by the officer appointed by the Government.
The adhoc committee and the Executive Board shall cease to exist after the formation of a nevl Executive Committee. Provided further that after the new elected Haryana Gurdwara Managernent Committee takes over the charge, the adhoc committee shall hand over the charge to the newly elected committee.”
“Provided that all the forty-one members so nominated by the Government shall elect their President, Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and six members, who shall be the members of the Executive Board of the Committee in its flrrst meeting to be convened and presided over hy the officer appointed by the Government.
The Adhoc Committee and the Executive Board shall cease to exist after the formation of a nerv Committee: Provided further that if elections under section 11 are not held within the period of eighteen months, a new Adhoc Committee shall be nominated by the Government for a further period of eighteen months or till the elections are held, whichever is earlier:
Provided further that after the new elected Haryana Gurdwara Management Committee takes over the charge, the Adhoc Committee shall hand over the charge to the newly elected Committee.”
