Arms license services go online in Haryana

Gurugram : In a bid to bring in more transparency and efficiency in the working of Haryana Police, 14 Arms License Services and 6 Arms and Ammunition Training Institutes related to Arms License at RTC Bhondsi, Gurugram has been started today.
With this initiative, Haryana has moved a step closer to realize Digital India dream of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, said the Chief Minister while inaugurating these services and institutes during a programme held at Gurugram.
The Chief Minister said that on the call of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for good governance, from the past seven years, several e-governance reforms have been brought about by the present State Government and now taking a step further, Arms Licensing Services and Arms and Ammunition Training Institutes have been started today.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that earlier people had to make rounds of offices for getting the arms license. Not only this, several corruption complaints were also reported regarding the licensing process. Therefore to overcome all these difficulties, 14 services related to obtaining license have been made online today.
He said that as per the rules, the time limit fixed earlier for these services has been amended and now licenses process will be completed in 25 days. If someone does not get the license or there is any problem then he can file an appeal. Earlier the limit for filing appeal was 60 days, but now this limit will also be reduced, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that now onwards one has to pay only Rs 2100 to get the same. This includes training fee of Rs 1500 and Rs 500 license fee and Saral Kendra fee of Rs 100, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that the present State Government is dedicatedly working on the mantra of shiksha (education), swasthya (health), suraksha (security), swablamban (self-reliance) and swabhiman (selfrespect).
The real meaning of governance is to provide these basic facilities to the citizens, said Sh. Manohar Lal. He said that on the lines of Ease of Doing Business, the Government is moving towards Ease of Living so that the citizens can lead happy life.
Having a good economy only does not make the society happy, rather there are many other parameters like standard of living, delivery of citizen centric services which makes the lives of the citizens easier. With this vision, online facilities have been launched today, so that citizens can get the benefit of these facilities at the comfort of their homes.
Now, no need to make rounds of the government offices to get Arms License, Home Minister
Earlier speaking at the function, the Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij firstly expressed deep condolences on the unfortunate death of DSP Sh. Surender Singh.Later speaking on the launch of the online services, Sh. Vij said that in the present system people used to remain unaware about the status of their application regarding arms license and sometimes they could not get proper answer even after making several rounds to the offices but now with the joint efforts of National Informatics Centre, Citizen Resource Information Department, Home Department and Haryana Police, online system for application and training of arms license is being started in the state today, which will certainly prove beneficial for those applying for arms license.He said that now no one will have make rounds of the government offices for license-related services or works, as citizens will be able to avail all these facilities while sitting at home.The Home Minister said that earlier arrangements were made for getting the arms training through home guards, but now they can apply for training by choosing their time slot by paying a fee of Rs 1500 on the same portal. The application status and all other related information will be given to the applicant through SMS.He said that the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is gradually digitizing all the services in the country and following in his footsteps, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has also made many services online in Haryana so that people can avail the benefits of all the citizen centric services without making rounds of the government offices and also without paying the middlemen.
Inaugurated 14 Arms Licensing Services and 6 Arms and Ammunition Training Institutes
As many as 14 Arms License Services including Issuance of New Arms License, Renewal of Arms License, Sale of Arms, Transfer/Gift, Registration of External License, Acquisition of Arms, Change of Address within Arms Jurisdiction, Extension of Period of Purchase of Arms, approval of arms in arms license, removal of arms from arms license, conversion of one type of weapon, issue of duplicate arms licenses, change in quantity of ammunition, extension of validity of territory, and cancellation of arms license, suspension/cancellation have been inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
In addition, 6 Arms and Ammunition Training Institutes were also inaugurated, which include Regional Training Centre, Bhondsi, Gurugram, Police Training Centre, Sunaria, Rohtak, Police Lines, Moginand, Panchkula, Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, Karnal, Police Lines, Hisar and Police Lines, Narnaul.
Sohna MLA, Sh. Sanjay Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Director General of Police, Sh. P K Agarwal, ADGP CID, Sh. Alok Mittal and Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, Sh. Hanif Qureshi, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Nishant Yadav remained present in the programme.
