AHD Kishtwar intensifies screening of LSD among Migratory Livestock
Kishtwar : Department of Animal Husbandry, Kishtwar, today intensified the preliminary screening for Lumpy Skin Disease cases among Migratory Livestock.As directed by Principal Secretary Agriculture Production (Additional Chief secretary) J&K, Director Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu and as discussed with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav, the teams of department, under the guidance of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. S. K. Sen, organised a series of Lumpy Skin Disease, Check post cum surveillance camps for the Migratory Livestock en-route at various designated places viz at Dak Banglow Kishtwar, Layee Padder, Chingam Chatroo and Padhyarna.
Deployed staff of these check posts have been directed to aware and educate the Nomads about the Lumpy Skin Disease, keep strict Vigilance, segregate and test the samples of suspected animals.The AHD is also spreading awareness about the prevention and treatment of LSD among the farmers on Mission mode basis across the district through field functionaries.
