DC Anantnag Dr Basharat Qayoom chairs DLAMC meeting

Anantnag : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today chaired the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee (DLAMC) meeting at DC Office, here. The meeting was held to review the status of Aadhaar enrolment and updation in the district.
The attendees discussed Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children and document update of residents who have not updated Aadhaar in last 10 years. They also discussed requirement for additional enrolment and update centers and ensuring availability of enrolment centers in uncovered areas and implementation of Aadhaar Linked Birth Registration (ALBR).
Discussion was also held regarding saturation of Aadhaar details of beneficiaries in various govt schemes. Monitoring of fraudulent activities related to Aadhaar and redressal of Aadhaar related grievances also came under discussion.
District Informatics Officer, Jan Mubarak informed the chair that more than 97% of the population in the district across all age groups have an Aadhaar card. He said 66 Aadhaar enrolment kits are presently functional in the district.
He also said the focus is on enrolment of children in the 0-5 age group in Aadhaar and for this purpose Department of School Education (SSA), J&K is operationalizing 26 Aadhaar kits in District Anantnag. These kits are to be made operational in schools and other prominent locations by Education Department using operators from outsourced manpower agency.
ICDS has 16 Aadhaar kits for the district which are to be deployed on roster basis for CDPO blocks; as of now 16 kits are operational. These kits are to be made operational at CDPO offices using operators from outsourced manpower agency.
The DC said that there are approximately 1.1 million Aadhaar holders in District Anantnag and many of them have not updated their Aadhaar in the last 10 years. These residents need to update their document details by visiting nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center.
He said that awareness programs to encourage the residents to update their Pol and PoA documents need to be organized in various parts of the district. He said a plan should be formulated in this regard. He said that the exercise is to be completed in a time bound manner.
He also emphasized that special drive for awareness of residents will be organized to facilitate document upload at Enrolment Centers. The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, CMO, CAO, CAHO, CHO, SP Headquarter, LDM, DEPO among others.
