DDC Rajouri convenes public grievances redressal camp at Thanamandi

Rajouri : To take a first-hand appraisal of grievances of the public at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a public grievances redressal camp here at Thanamandi.Among the others, DDC Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayom Mir; President MC Thanamandi, Shakeel Mir; Sarpanches, panches and people from all sections of the society attended the public outreach camp.ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; Tehsildar, Sahil Hussain; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PMGSY Budhal, Abdul Gani besides concerned officers from the Line Departments were also present during the program.The public and their representatives apprised the DDC about developmental issues of their respective areas and sought adequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services.Addressing the public, the District Development Commissioner said that District Administration Rajouri is making persistent efforts to provide quality services to the common masses, that too at their doorsteps to ensure that they don’t face any inconvenience.

Expressing the strong resolve of the District Administration to ensure transparency and accountability in its functioning, the DC said that concrete measures have been taken to make Government services more transparent, easily accessible to encourage peoples’ participation in the development process and clean governance.Highlighting the objective of the public outreach camp, the DC said that such platforms enable the District administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the general public and improve public service delivery mechanisms.Underlining the measures being taken to cover all the eligible beneficiaries under the Forest Rights Act, the DDC said that so far, as many as 640 claims have been cleared and strict instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities for the coverage of all eligible left out beneficiaries under the Act.Informing about the steps being taken to promote self-employment generation activities, the DC said that dedicated efforts are being made to enable the unemployed youth to earn on their own.Regarding enhancing the literacy rate of the district, he informed that the concrete measures are being taken to ensure hundred per cent enrollment of the dropouts in schools.He also urged upon the public to avail the benefits of the newly launched Aap ki Zameen Aap ki Nigrani land Information system and said that this new system will provide land records at their palm, just at a click. He said it will be a game-changer and will play a major role in the prompt delivery of services.The DDC also appealed to the public to register themselves under the SEHAT scheme to avail the medical insurance coverage.
