ICPS organises training programme at Kulgam

Kulgam : To enhance the capacities of Child Protection Committees at block and village level in the district, a daylong training programme was today organised by Integrated Child Protection Services (ICPS) at DIET Complex, here.The programme was conducted with the support of UNICEF and was presided over by Additional Development Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather.On the occasion, the ADC highlighted various issues of children and said that parents are the primary institution whose guidance and care plays an instrumental role in development and safeguarding their rights.He also said that care of children rights is a collective responsibility of all stakeholders.Chairperson CWC also deliberated on several issues of children and highlighted the role of the Child Welfare Committee for safeguarding their rights.Resource persons of the training program deliberated upon different acts like JJ Act, POCSO Act etc and sensitized the participants about these Acts.Among others, the programme was attended by BDC, representatives of RDD, ICDS, Education and Health departments besides other members of BLCPCs of block Qaimoh, Behibagh, Frisal and Pombay.
