Anantnag Police recovers contraband substances in Krandigham

Anantnag : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Anantnag along with Revenue and Excise Departments have recovered contraband substances at Krandigham area of Anantnag.A police party from Police Station Bijbehara led by SHO PS Bijbehara along with Revenue and Excise Departments during the destruction of illegal poppy cultivation at Krandigham recovered 4Kgs of Charas powder and 35Kgs of raw Charas.Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 151/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Bijbehara and investigation into the matter has been initiated.Preliminary investigation revealed that the said contraband substances were dumped by three persons identified as Nisar Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Abdul Rehman Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat and Ghulam Nabi Parra son of Abdul Satar Parra all residents of Krandigham. All the three accused persons are presently at large and efforts are on to effect their arrest.Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace
