DDC kick starts ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ in Budgam

Budgam:Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today kick started ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ with the inauguration of a camp organized by Department of Agriculture at Yarikhah Khansahab.The Kissan Pakhwada commenced on July 07 and is scheduled to culminate on July 21, 2020.As many as 20 departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Floriculture and Sericulture had established their stalls in the mega camp demonstrating their activities, produces and displaying latest farming and spraying machinery and tools besides providing latest information to the interested farmers.To provide specific information related to different schemes including KCC and other assistance available for farmers, Jammu and Kashmir Bank had established a unique information centre.While addressing the camp, the DDC said that the UT of Jammu and Kashmir has 30 percent of GDP from agriculture produces only and if we implement and follow the advices, guidelines and latest technologies for upgrading our agriculture farming there is no doubt that we can double our produces as well as income from this sector within two to three years.He said the government is committed to bring all progressive farmers in the KCC coverage so that they can utilize the monetary resources timely on agricultural related activities.
The DDC assured farmers that all banks have been directed to pace up the sanctioning process of KCC cases in a hassle free manner and ensure cent percent coverage under this scheme in next 2 months.The DDC urged upon Panchayat Raj Institutions to involve themselves in this sector also and utilize the resources available under the agricultural sector in empowering more and more needy people, so that they can earn sustainable livelihood.Regarding the COVID-19 the DDC urged the general public to follow and adhere to SOPs and guidelines issued by the government to prevent transmission of the virus.At the end, the DDC along with Zonal Head J&K Bank distributed sanction letters among 20 progressive farmers besides the agriculture department also distributed cheques among beneficiaries on account of equipment subsidy.Among others SDM Khansahab, JD Agriculture, Zonal Head Jammu and Kashmir Bank, CAO, Cluster Head J&K Bank, SDPO Khansahab, Lead Bank Officer Budgam, besides other concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
