DDC Bandipora launches ‘Kissan Pakhwada’

Bandipora:District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir Wednesday inaugurated Kissan Pakhwada in the district being observed from July 7 to July 21.The programme was organised with the purpose to create awareness among farmers about several welfare schemes and to achieve cent percent coverage under KCC during the fortnight.The DDC during the launch said that the objective of organising ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ is to increase the flow of advances in the agriculture sector and double the income of farmers by way of their involvement in agriculture related welfare schemes like KCC, PM-KISAN and other schemes.He stressed upon all stakeholders to play a proactive role for making Kissan Pakhwada a success in the district and ensure cent per cent coverage of farmers including those associated with agriculture, horticulture, sheep, fisheries and other allied activities under the purview of centrally sponsored PM Kissan and KCC schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner asked for the active involvement of the PRI members in the programme to achieve positive results and directed the concerned officers to make sure observance of Covid protection SOPs and guidelines, while carrying out various activities related to the programme.On the occasion Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora informed that the department is organizing a mega Kisan mela in Sher-e-Kashmir Sports stadium Bandipora on 15 July and at Irrigation Colony Sumbal on 16 July.Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer and other officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Banks besides other concerned departments.A similar integrated awareness program was also organized jointly by the Department of Agriculture and allied sectors at Aloosa.
During the awareness programme, experts informed farmers about the KCC scheme and also enrolled them as beneficiaries of the scheme.They also informed farmers about various schemes available for increasing the produce, revenue and income to improve their socio-economic status.
