Doda : Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan today chaired a series of meetings through virtual mode to review implementation of Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP), PM- KISAN and discussed preparations of ‘Vibrant Bhaderwah’ – a new year event.
The Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) aims to ensure expeditious improvement in the Socio-Economic status of 44 most backward Blocks of the UT. In Doda district, Kastigarh and Chilli Pingal Blocks are being developed under ABDP based on 21 performance indicators covering four major aspects of Human Development i,e Poverty (3 indicators), Health & Nutrition (6 Indicators), Education (7 Indicators) and Basic Infrastructure (5 Indicators) in consultation with NITI Ayog, GOI.
The DC directed the stakeholder departments to ensure 100% physical and financial achievement in the execution of the development plan to meet the parameters under different sectors. He set January 26, 2023 as the deadline to meet the prescribed targets under ABDP.
While reviewing PM KISAN, in presence of ADDC, Pran Singh, Chief Agriculture officer, LDM, and representatives of JK bank, the DC directed for exploring the possibility for increasing the intensity of cropping in the District.
He asked them to take measures and provide expert interventions to the farmers for promotion of winter cropping across the district. The DC appreciated the efforts of the Department for effecting much required rationalization of the staff.
He urged the Agriculture team to produce tangible results and fixed this week’s Saturday as the final date for e -KYC of all the left out eligible persons in the district. Under PM-KISAN, landholding farmer families, having cultivable land up to 2 hectares, are provided direct financial support at the rate of Rs. 6,000 per year.
This income support is transferred directly into their bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000. Meanwhile, the DC convened an online meeting with ADC Bhaderwah, Chief Executive Officer BDA, JD Tourism, DD Tourism, and other stakeholders to discuss the action plan for organizing ‘Vibrant Bhaderwah’ – a new year event.
It was informed that New year celebration events would be organised at Gatha Park and other locations in and around the Township under the aegis of Vibrant Bhaderwah.
The new year event shall also include Rafting at Shibnote, Snow sledging, music, fun, gaming and other activities. The DC asked the stakeholder departments to put in synchronised efforts for organizing the event as a major attraction for increasing the Tourism footfall in the area.
He asked the Hoteliers, Restaurant owners, Shopkeepers and other concerned to give the best service to the tourists, beautify the town and create infrastructure to give world class experience to the tourists. He also called for giving wide publicity to the event.
