DC Ganderbal appreciates CSG for organizing online Essay Competition

Ganderbal : The award and certificate distribution ceremony for the participants and the toppers of online Essay competition was today organized by Civil Society Ganderbal (CSG) here.The competition was divided into two categories viz Junior (upto 12 Class) & Senior category (Above 12th Class) in which around 60 students from across the district participated.The competition was organized by CSG for engaging the youth in constructive pursuits during the Covid lockdown period besides encouraging students to showcase hidden talent of their writing skills.The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal who was chief guest on the occasion in his address sought the cooperation of all sects of society to overcome the present challenges in education system and highlighted the initiatives taken by the district administration for the revival of education system in the district.He also appreciated the efforts of civil society Ganderbal for organizing such kind of events especially in COVID-19 and exhorted upon the Civil Society Executives to conduct such youth oriented educational programmes in future as well.Earlier Dr Parvaiz Reshi (founding member CSG) threw light on the genesis of Civil Society Ganderbal and its functioning.Later, the DC distributed the certificates and awards among the participants and the toppers of online Essay competition.The first three toppers in each category were awarded Mementos, General knowledge books and certificates.Among others, SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Assistant Commissioner Income Tax, (Convener CSG), Retired CEO, Assistant Professor, SKUAST-K, Programme Coordinator and convener Civil Society Kangan were present on the occasion.
