DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav finalises arrangements for Urs Shah Asrar-Ud-Din Sahib (RA)

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav today convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers of line departments to discuss and finalise the arrangements for Urs Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib (RA) here in the Conference Hall of DC office complex.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Sham Lal; ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma; ASP, Rajinder Singh; ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak; SDM Chatroo (CEO KDA) Inderjeet Singh Parihar besides other district officers and the members of Shah Asraria Darbar management Committee.
The members of Shah Asraria Darbar management Committee apprised the chair that the Urs shall be held on 9th and 10th of Nov 2022.They put forth different demands and issues regarding the arrangements for the annual Urs, including the uninterrupted power and water supply, Cleanliness and sanitation at the shrines, Baitul-Zaireen, Chowgan Ground and Kishtwar town.
The Committee sought an effective traffic management plan for the convenience of the devotees.The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to make the necessary arrangements well in advance.
He asked for uninterrupted power and water supply, necessary sanitation and cleanliness at both shrines (Astan Paien & Astan Balla) , in the Chowgan Ground and in the town. Directions were issued for Deployment of Fire tenders, installation of street lights, Health and emergency facilities and ambulance to avoid inconvenience to devotees during the Urs.
The meeting was informed that the provision of water supply in the town and adjoining areas, besides tanker service facility has been made available for devotees in the Chowgan Ground.The Municipality and R&B functionaries were asked to install temporary toilets in the Chowgan Ground.
Besides, the EO Municipality was directed to ensure cleanliness and lime-lining of route to shrines and replacement of non-functional lights in the streets of town for hassle free movement of devotees.The CEO KDA and EO Municipality were asked to come up with a rational layout plan for the installation of stalls by vendors on the Chowgan grounds after prior permission is issued to them by the competent Authority.
On the management of traffic, it was revealed in the meeting that the commercial vehicles would be provided parking space at ITI ground and Circus ground near the SSP office.The ARTO was asked to ensure an adequate number of buses and other passenger vehicles for hassle free movement of devotees.
Other arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which includes establishment of control room with PAS system and other facilitation services besides availability of LPG and fuel for Langar, providing tents and Shamyana for devotees and elaborated security arrangements.
It was also informed that a Special Sufi Song night programme will be organised by District administration Kishtwar in collaboration with Kishtwar Development Authority at the venue of Urs.KDA and the cultural department were asked to fine tune the arrangement well in advance for the smooth conduct of the programme on Urs.
