Implementation of ABD Program, achievements under District Good Governance Index reviewed in Kishtwar

Kishtwar : The implementation of Aspirational Block Development programme and achievements under District Good Governance Index was reviewed today by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar Sham Lal here at a meeting of district/Sectoral officers held in his office Chamber.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director planning Mohammad Iqbal; ACD Atul Dutt Sharma and other District and Sectoral officers. At the outset, the JD- Planning informed the chair about the sector wise progress of different schemes and programmes implemented in Marwah and Warwan Blocks- chosen for Aspirational Block Developmental programme.
The concerned officers were apprised about various guidelines and parameters to be followed for improving socio-economic uplift of these areas. The ADD instructed the departmental heads to work in tune with the same to achieve the set benchmarks under ABDP.
Highlighting the objectives of ABDP, the ADDC asked to focus on poverty alleviation, promotion of education, development of basic infrastructure, agriculture development, meeting health and nutrition needs in these blocks. He urged the departments to work in synergy.
The Agriculture and allied departments were asked to gear up the agriculture and allied sector activities rolled out under the umbrella schemes “SAMPAN” in convergence mode so that the benefits percolate down to the grassroots level in an effective manner.
During the meeting the deliberations were also held on the sector-wise performance including Agriculture and allied Sectors, Industries & Commerce, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Economic Governance, Social Welfare under Good Governance Index framework.
The ADDC said that the Good Governance Index is a uniform tool to assess the status of Governance and the impact of various interventions of the Government in the larger public interest.
He asked the officers to analyse the last Good Governance Index to address the existing gaps and plan a strategy to bridge these gaps to achieve the desired results. He directed all the district officers to submit figures /data finalised by 1st day of each month as per prescribed formats.
