District administration Rajouri organises mega Kisan Pakhwada at Nowshera

Rajouri : As a part of the ambitious Kisan Pakwada programme and on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, a mega Kisan Pakhwada was organized today here at Subdivision Nowshera.The mela was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samayal in presence of Chief Agriculture Officer, Vijay Kumar, Chief Horticulture Officer, Madan Lal, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Mohd Younis, BDC Chairpersons and other district and sectoral officers.Scores of farmers from adjoining areas participated in Kisan Pakhwada and all the SOPs norms were followed while carrying out different activities during the programme.The officers from various departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Floriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, JK Bank and others disseminated information related to various Government schemes of their departments which are meant for the welfare of the general public.ADC said that the Kisan Pakhwada is one of the most unique ways for close interaction between the farmer and the administration.
He also said farmers make a key contribution to the development of a nation and thus it becomes important to give respect to their dedicated efforts and to make them feel proud of their hard work.He also highlighted the objective behind the celebration of the programme and urged upon the farmers to remain updated with the new schemes and programmes launched by the Government from time to time for their welfare. He said that the aim for observing Kisan Pakwada is to ensure 100% coverage of the farmers under KCC in the district so that they can avail a low-interest loan.The ADC said that concerted efforts are being made to achieve the goal of doubling the income of the farmers by 2022 and various steps are being taken to provide necessary benefits to the farmers to mitigate their sufferings and ensuring 100 per cent KCC is one of them. He impressed upon the farmers to be open to adopting new technologies in the field so that production could be boosted with the ultimate aim to usher in a new green revolution in the district.The ADC also handed over Kisan Credit cards to 22 progressive farmers of the area to help them secure timely credit at reasonable interest in a hassle-free manner.
