Shopian Police Arrests A Lady Drug Paddler, Recover 185 grams of Cannabis

Shopian :Police in South Kashmir’s shopian district continues drive against Narcotic supply chain arrests a lady drug peddler Recovers charas (Cannabis) from her.In a Statement issued by Shopian police ,Today SHO Police Station Shopian, during routine naka duty outside DPL (District Police Line) shopian near nagbal crossing, a lady who was carrying a polythene bag in her hands and trying to evade suspiciously the sight of naka, was stopped.During search of the polythene bag, prepared cannabis covered with maise husk total 5-1/2 pieces weighing 185 grams and also cash Rs 94700 (proceeds of this illegal trade) was found. Same was sealed and seized on spot . The cash was also seized. Lady namely mumtaza widow of gulzar Ahmad ganie r/o digam nagbal arrested on spot. Case FIR no. 144/20 u/s 8/16/20 NDPS ACT stand registered and investigations taken up.Shopian police appealed general public to co-operate in eradicating this menace and also warned drug peddling mafia to stop their illegal activities, else will have to face stern action under law.
