Weekly Block Diwas : Mega Public Outreach camps held at 5 locations in Doda

Doda : To listen to the issues and grievances of the people, Public Outreach Programme was held today at five locations across the district. The locations include; Panchayat Chownry, Sub Division Gandoh; BDO Office Assar, Sub Division Assar; BDO Office Bhadarwah, Sub District Bhaderwah; Dak Bungalow Thathri, Sub Division Thathri; and BDO office Ghat, Doda.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan listened to public grievances at BDO Office Ghat along with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, BDC Chairperson Ghat Shareefa Begum, DDC Councillor Ghat Gulshan Ara and other District and sectoral officers.
Several public delegations, individuals besides PRI members projected the local demands and problems being faced by the public. Prior to the Block Diwas program DC along with SSP, BDC Chairperson Ghat, DDC Councillor Ghat, CEO and ZEO Ghat visited Government Higher Secondary School Ghat and interacted with students and staff of the school.
The DC while addressing the public said that Block Divas is aimed at getting first hand appraisal of the problems and developmental aspirations of the people. He called upon the field functionaries of different departments to work in close coordination with PRIs to ensure prompt delivery of essential services and also issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of genuine demands and grievances of public importance.
The DC assured the public that their demands will be redressed on priority by mobilizing all available resources. He also directed the officers to work with missionary zeal to meet and address the genuine demands of the Public.
He stressed on active public/ PRIs participation in making this district Drugs free and Swach. He informed that during Jan Abhiyaan and second phase of My Town My Pride programme, special camps of all the public services delivery departments have been established from 28th of November to 4th of December, at Community Hall Doda, Community Hall Bhaderwah and Dakbunglow Thathri.
He urged the public to visit the camps and get the services of various departments on the spot. He also made public aware of special initiatives of District Administration like Swach Gaon Sunder Gaon, Innovation Challenge, Know your Real Heroes, Talent haunt, School Prabhari scheme etc.
At Block Headquarter Bhaderwah, the camp was presided over by ADC Bhaderwah Chowdhary Dil Mir, BDC Chairperson Omi Chand, and DDC Councillor Thakur Yudhvir. All the sectoral officers of Sub District Bhaderwah were present in the camp where large number of public and PRIs presented their demands and issues which were disposed off giving directions to the concerned authorities for the time bound redressal.
At Panchayat Chownry SDM Gandoh Arun Kumar Badyal interacted with the PRIs and the general public while at at BDO office Assar and Dakbunglow Thathri, SDM Assar Lekh Raj and SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar addressed the genuine demands of the Public, respectively.
At all designated locations, the day long Block Diwas proceedings were witnessed. Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
