Cheetapur, Bhandara : Continuing the series of plantation drives across the country, which started on the occasion of world environment day, tree plantation drive was also organised at the Headquarters, 206 CoBRA,Cheetapur, Bhandara on 12th July 2020, under the supervision of Shri Ashok Swamy, Commandant, Shri Dinesh Kumar Singh, Second -in- Command, officers and staff of 206 CoBRA. Today’s plantation drive was organized in accordance with the “Vriksha Mitra” program. Commandos of 206 CoBRA actively participated in the said drive and planted 2050 saplings in and around the campus. This drive was one of a kind in itself, as all personnel, through their indefatigable efforts achieved this remarkable feat in just three hours between 06.00 a.m. to 09.00 a.m. Total 22,050 saplings have been planted so far by this unit as part of the programme.Lauding the efforts of all officers and personnel of Battalion, Shri Ashok Swamy, Commandant, said that conservation of environment is everyone’s responsibility and being the torch-bearer agency in maintaining India’s internal security, CRPF has always made significant contribution to human sensitivities and concerns. He also emphasised that every commando of the Battalion must look after and ensure sustenance of the saplings planted by them as this is an investment for future generations. Trees are our heritage and clean air is everyone’s right and we, being “Sentinels of the Nation”, must do all in our power to protect and preserve the country in every possible manner.Through today’s drive, we have consolidated our commitment and pledge to developing a cleaner and greener environment and surroundings. He told that 2020 is the year of human sensitivities/compassion. He thanked Forest authorities for providing these saplings and support to make this drive successful.
