Jasdeep Nikku, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and BSP leader Gurpreet Singh Sidhu joins AAP

Joined party after impressed with policies of Kejriwal government

Chandigarh : The Congress suffered a major setback in the district of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, after senior leaders fed up with the party’s policies, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday. These include Congress legislator Kaka Randeep Nabha’s brother and Congress leader Jasdeep Singh Nikku. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) vigorously takes up issues related to every section of Punjab, playing the duty of being the main opposition party, due to which the party’s base is getting stronger day by day. Party incharge and Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh, State President and MP Bhagwant Mann, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Legislative Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, deputy Leader of Opposition Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Aman Arora, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Principal Budhram, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Jai Kishan Singh Rodi, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Jagtar Singh Jagga Hissowal, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Master Baldev Singh, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Amarjit Singh Sandoya, party general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat, secretary Gagandeep Singh Chadha among other leaders were present on the occasion.Impressed by Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government, Congress leaders Jasdeep Singh Nikku, Akali Dal leaders Harmeet Singh Pathanamajra and Gurpreet Singh Sidhu joined AAP.
Jarnail Singh and Bhagwant Mann welcomed the leaders who joined the party and said that the party will get more strength with their arrival. They hoped that the leaders in the ‘AAP family’ would play the responsibility imposed by the party with full vigor and play an important role in making Punjab happy again.Jasdeep Singh Nikku said that his family has a connection with the Congress party for a long time and that his brother Kaka Randeep Nabha is an MLA from Amloh, but due to the failures of the current Punjab government, he said goodbye to the Congress party. Nikku said that he was impressed with what the Aam Aadmi Party was doing for the farmers of Punjab today due to which he joined the party. He further said that whatever responsibility would be given by the party in the coming time, he would play it with full devotion. Harmeet Singh Pathanamajra said that the work being done by the Kejriwal government of Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party for farmers during the ongoing movement was praiseworthy and that is why he joined AAP, which stands with farmers on every front.He said that whatever duty would be imposed on behalf of the party, he would play it with full vigor. Harmeet Singh Pathanamajra has been politically active in the Legislative Assembly of district Patiala from Sanaur for a long time. He also independently contested the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2017 and garnered over 12,000 votes. In 2019, he joined the Congress party. On behalf of Bahujan Samaj Party, Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, who was a conveyor from Faridkot in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, also joined the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that he was impressed by the work being done by the Kejriwal government in Delhi and joined the party.
