Administration To Provide Oxygen Concentrators To Patients Of Nearby Districts Admitted In Jalandhar: Ghanshyam Thori

Jalandhar : In a bid to cater to the needs of patients requiring oxygen gas at home, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today announced that the administration has extended the amid of its unique `oxygen bank’ initiative to the patients belonging to the nearby districts admitted in Jalandhar.The DC said that the concentrators would be provided to the patients of bordering districts i.e. Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Kapurthala, who are admitted in Jalandhar and getting discharge slip along with a prescription of the hospital adding that the patient must furnish a reference of a local address before obtaining a concentrator. Notably, an oxygen concentrator bank was set up by the district administration at the premises of Red Cross Society.The Deputy Commissioner said that so far the oxygen bank has provided concentrators to 43 patients adding that now any Covid or Non-Covid patient can seek these concentrators from the oxygen bank on a nominal security fee of Rs. 5000 and a daily charge of Rs. 200.Meanwhile, Bactors Food Specialties Limited on Tuesday donated 10 oxygen concentrators to the oxygen bank of Red Cross Society under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Mr. Thori issued an appreciation letter to the industry while lauding its contribution to the ongoing battle against the pandemic. He also stated that the efforts of such philanthropic institutions have proved to be a boon during this global health crisis.
