Cabinet Minister Razia Sultana inaugurates newly constructed overbridge at Malerkotla

Malerkotla/Sangrur : Punjab transport and water supply minister Razia Sultana said that Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh led government has been committed to provide basic amenities to the people of the state. The cabinet minister was here at Malerkotla to inaugurate the newly constructed overbridge at a cost of Rs. 29.57 crore near Jarg Chowk Malerkotla today.The Cabinet Minister said that the residents of Malerkotla would be relieved of the traffic congestion with the opening of this overbridge. She said that the commuters travelling to Ludhiana, Khanna and Patiala, now will pass Malerkotla city over this bridge and the local people will also have not to face any hindrance in the flow of traffic. She said that now the reconstruction work of Malerkotla city roads would also be done in full swing and all the repair works of the roads of the city would be completed within next few months for which construction grant of Rs. 12 crore has been received from the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. Ms. Razia Sultana said that though the 785-meter long and 10-meter wide overbridge on the Ludhiana-Sangrur main road had taken some time to complete but now with the inauguration, the city residents were extremely happy.She said that along with the over bridge, 5.5-meter wide roads would also be constructed on both the sides as separate arrangements for traffic. She said that no stone would be left unturned for the facelift of Malerkotla.On this occasion, SDM Malerkotla Mr. T. Benith IAS, DSP Mr. Sanjeev Bhatt, Senior Vice Chairman of Minorities Commission Mohammad Rafi, Chairman Improvement Trust Chaudhry Mohammad Bashir, Member Punjab Waqf Board Sheikh Syed Hussain, Former Municipal Council President Iqbal Foji, Com. Shuleman Josh, Munshi Mohammad Asraf, Dr. Mohammad Iqbal and all Congress party counsellors were also present.
