Charanjit Singh Channi inaugurates 3-day Sangrur Heritage Festival

Dedicates Sangrur Kothi, Banasar Bagh, Marble Barandari and Clock Tower to people after renovation by spending Rs. 7 crore

Sangrur : Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, on Tuesday, inaugurated the 3-day Sangrur Heritage Festival from local Banasar Bagh to depict the heritage and culture of Punjab. On this occasion, CM Channi also dedicated Sangrur Kothi, Banasar Bagh, Marble Barandari and Clock Tower to people after renovation by spending Rs. 7 crore. He was also accompanied by Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla.Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi lauded the performances of folk dancers and musicians from the stage of Heritage Festival and he also tried his hands on folk musical instruments.

The Chief Minister was also honored by the district administration and a book named ‘Sangrur Then and now tale of city’ was also presented to him by the deputy commissioner.While speaking on the occasion, PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla said that the artists would perform folk items in the Heritage Festival on December 15 and 16 in the Sangrur Heritage Festival. He added that the artists from various locations of Punjab will enthrall the audience with their performances.Special Chief Secretary Tourism and Cultural Affairs Sanjay Kumar, Director Tourism Kanwal Preet Brar, DC Sangrur Ramvir, ADC Anmol Singh Dhaliwal among several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
