Education Department Conducts PTMs In Schools

Jalandhar : In a unique initiative of the education department ‘parent-teacher’ meetings were held throughout Jalandhar district and in other parts of the state on Saturday.
Enthusiastic parents gave a thumping response to the meet where they received information about their wards as well as educational and extra curricular activities in the schools.
At the premises of PTMs, various stalls were exhibited including art and crafts, fashion designing by vocational students besides having a selfie corner for students and parents
Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh visited local Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden and interacted with the parents during Parent Teachers Meeting organised as per the directives of School Education Department.
While taking round at Nehru Garden school and interacting with the parents present on the occasion, Jaspreet Singh said that this step had been initiated for analysing the existing learning facilities and co-curricular support for academic progress and other aspects for holistic development of the students.
He also sought valuable suggestions from parents as well as students for making the existing system far more efficient.Referring to queries of some of the parents, the Deputy Commissioner assured that the District Administration would make all out efforts to being necessary reforms, where needed, so that all round development of students could be ensured.
He also visited the various stalls exhibited by the schools students in the campus.Earlier, Deputy DEO Rajiv Joshi and School Principal Gurinderjit Kaur welcomed the Deputy Commissioner on his arrival.
Pertinently, these PTMs were held in total 1379 schools including 160 Government Senior Secondary schools, 125 Government High Schools, 154 Government Middle Schools and 940 Government Primary Schools.
