Ensure Curfew Like Strictness In The Containment And Micro-Containment Zones To Arrest Spread Of Covid-19-Ghanshyam Thori

Only Movement Of Medical Teams And Delivery Of Essential Commodities Would Be Allowed In These Areas

Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today directed the officials to impose curfew like strictness in the all the containment and micro-containment zones to arrest the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.Chairing a meeting with the Civil, health and police officials in the district administrative complex, The Deputy Commissioner asked them to keep eagle on the containment and micro-containment zones and there must be utmost strictness in the these zones to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.He said that the entry and exit must be completely sealed except for medical teams for the door to door survey and delivery of essential commodities or services. Mr Thori told that people will be allowed to move out only for medical emergency. He said strict perimeter control would be ensured with health workers going door to door for active surveillance.He asked the officers to ensure that no movement of vehicles and persons take place in the zones. Mr Thori further told to the officials to ensure delivery of ration or essential items to the poor people at their doorsteps so that they don’t face any kind of problems to meet daily need of ration.He said that any violation of the norms in the containment zones should be dealt with sternly. He said that for any sort of lapse the officer of the concerned area would be held accountable.He said that the state and district was fighting a war against an ‘invisible enemy’ and the officers were already doing a tough job. He said that all the officers have been performing their duty zealously despite of challenging circumstances.The Deputy Commissioner further asked the officers to continue this duty as it was a war Covid 19 pandemic, which has emerged a major threat across the globe.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Vishesh Sarangal, Mr Jasbir Singh, DCP Ms D Sudarvizhi, MC Joint Commissioner Mr Harcharan Singh, SDM-1 Dr Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Gurmeet Kaur Duggal and others were present.
