Giving 1000 to women is not ‘freebies’, but a social security : Bhagwant Mann

Said, the financial condition of the poor cannot be improved without improving the government schools, will provide good education to uproot poverty

Dharamkot/Moga : Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Punjab President and MP Bhagwant Mann said, “Giving 1000 allowance to women is not freebies, but a social security. Women will become empowered and self-reliant with extra financial help. Aam Aadmi Party’s policy of giving 1000 allowance to all the women of Punjab above 18, will prove to be a milestone in women empowerment.” Mann said that only Rs.8200 crores are required annually for this scheme, which can be fulfilled by closing only sand mafia worth Rs.20,000 crore.Bhagwant Mann had reached Dharamkot (Moga) to hold a public rally in support of AAP candidate Davinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhos on Sunday. Addressing this huge public rally, Mann said, “The leaders talking about eradicating poverty directly are outright liars. Poverty is not overcome by speaking and making promises. Poverty can be eradicated through good education and knowledge. Your children can eliminate poverty by reading, writing and taking good education. Aam Aadmi Party government will give good education to your children and will provide opportunities and resources to move ahead in life. Poverty will be uprooted itself. The darkness of poverty can be removed only by the light of education. But our leaders deliberately did not let this light reach the children of the poor and common people.

Mann said that the children of poor people study in government schools, so it is very important to improve the condition of government schools. Unless the condition of government schools improves, the condition of the poor also cannot improve. He promised that the AAP government will improve the condition of government schools on the lines of Delhi and make them world class. Good education and good medical treatment are the first priorities of Aam Aadmi Party.Emphasizing on agricultural reforms, Mann said, “The farmers of the village adopt the method of farming by talking to each other. But for improved farming and more production, we must do farming with scientific methods. AAP government will facilitate and help the farmers of every village. Agricultural Experts, who will guide the farmers to do farming according to new and improved scientific methods, will be recruited. This way employment will increase, and so will the yield of the crops.Referring to the Delhi government’s ‘Farishta’ scheme, Mann said that if a person has a road accident in Delhi, then any person can get them admitted in the nearest hospital whether private or government.

The Delhi government gives a reward of 2000 to encourage the person who helps victims to reach the hospital. In Punjab also, the AAP government will implement such a scheme to reduce the deaths due to road accidents.Mann said, “I have not entered politics to earn money. If I had wish to earn money, I would have earned a lot by doing comedy shows in the country and abroad. From art to politics, the people of Punjab have given me a lot of love and support. I will always try to live up to their love and trust.” Mann urged people, “You have given opportunities to Congress-Akali, BJP and Capt. But they had only increased the problems of Punjab. Give only one chance to Aam Aadmi Party. We will save farmers, youth and businessmen to take Punjab forward.”Along with Bhagwant Mann and AAP candidate from Dharamkot Davinderjeet Singh Laddi, Harman jeet Singh Brar Dist.
