Health infrastructure in the district augmented

Molecular lab at Max Hospital Mohali to be the first private hospital based lab to do RTPCR test

Nagar : The health infrastructure in the district has been augmented today with participation of a leading private hospital in the district setting up a molecular lab in its premises, said Deputy Commissioner, Girish Dayalan while inaugurating molecular lab at the Max Hospital Mohali.The new upgrade facility has a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility which will be the first private hospital based lab to do RTPCR test in the Tricity. This is a big initiative taken by the hospital which will help get COVID report within 24 hours as against over 48 hours earlier. The RTPCR samples for COVID tests were earlier sent to Delhi for testing. Giving details, Mr. Vivan Singh Gill (VP Operations Max Mohali & Bathinda) said that North India’s leading healthcare provider Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali has launched its newly developed molecular lab.The new lab has been set up in a short span of 26 days which included multiple operational challenges right from raising infrastructures, taking NABL accreditation, ICMR approval to training the staff.Mr. Gill also said that the lab will be operational 24 x 7 and Govt rates will be applicable for RTPCR tests.
