IIT Ropar Director Prof. Rajeev Ahuja inspired Central University of Punjab’s Scientists to conduct path-breaking research through Collaboration and Innovation

Vice Chancellor Prof. R.P. Tiwari announces to constitute a team to work out possibilities of collaboration b/w CUP Bathinda and IIT Ropar

Bathinda : Central University of Punjab (CUP), Bathinda under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari organized an interactive session of Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar with their scientists and faculty members.During his address, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja shared his experiences of working at Uppsala University, Sweden, and stressed that the international scientific community works on the model of ‘innovation and collaboration’ which Indian Scientists should also adopt to conduct path-breaking research. He emphasized on the development of low-cost and research-based indigenous solutions in science and technology to solve various grassroot problems for making our country Self-Reliant. Prof. Ahuja mentioned that the scientists of our country have the competency to conduct high-quality research at par with international standards. But, to enhance the research output they need to start focusing on collaborative assignments, new research dimensions, and the development of research-based solutions to achieve sustainable development goals.

He added that although the transformative educational reforms under NEP 2020 such as the development of scientific temperament among youngsters through the adoption of student-centric teaching pedagogy etc. have set the stage to conduct multidisciplinary research for researchers. But for effective implementation of these reforms, teachers should also need to provide freedom to students and research scholars to work together with research scholars of other disciplines to conduct research on new areas.While interacting with faculty members Prof. Ahuja applauded the CUPB faculty for taking the university to greater heights. He called on CUP Bathinda’s Scientists to work together with IIT Ropar Scientists to develop new-age solutions with the use of science and technology.In his presidential remarks Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice Chancellor, expressed gratitude towards Prof. Ahuja for encouraging CUP faculty members to take their research to the higher pedestal. He announced to formulate a team consisting of scientists from various discipline to work out the key areas on which CUP Bathinda can collaborate with IIT Ropar to promote new academic partnership aiming to make our country Knowledge Capital.On this occasion, Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academics, Prof. V.K. Garg, Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Anjana Munshi, Dean Research, HoDs of Sciences departments and faculty members were present.
