Keep your goal high as you are the assets of the Nation, DC Aashika Jain to students

S.A.S Nagar : Terming the students as valued assets of the Nation, the Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain asserted that It is the right time to invest in these to make them more productive by providing every opportunity to grow. Mrs Jain who visited District level Painting Competition organised by Child Welfare Council, Punjab at Bal Bhawan Mohali, further said that she was really impressed upon the ideas and feelings pouring in on canvas with brush in a spontaneous manner.
She asked them to keep their goals high to excel in life. Exhorting them to promote zero burning of Paddy Stubble by sensitising surrounding people, she said that it would be helpful to save the environment and mankind. Earlier, Mrs Prajakta Avhad, Chairperson, Child Welfare Council, Punjab welcomed the Chief guest. Dr. (Mrs.) Pritam Sandhu, Secretary, CWC, Punjab gave a detailed note of the activities being run by the Child Welfare Council, Punjab for the welfare of children in the State. Mrs Ratinder Brar, Treasurer, CWC was also present there.
Around 50 children from different schools of Mohali participated in the competition. There were four groups according to the age group of children viz Green Group(Age 5-9 Years), White group (Age 10-16 years) & two special groups Yellow Group (Age 5-10 Years) & Red Group (Age 11-18 Years) for differently able children viz Visually Impaired, Speech/Hearing Impaired and children with Multiple Disability/Cerebral Palsy/Mentally Challenged.
DC Aashika Jain assured all possible help to the Council for the expansion of the activities of Bal Bhawan, Mohali. She also distributed refreshments to the students. The first three winners of each group and sub-group will take part in the Division Level Painting Competition to be held at Barnala shortly.
