Lalru police arrested a man with 23,100 narcotic pills

Lalru (S.A.S. Nagar) : Sh. Satinder Singh, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police, district SAS Nagar has stated while releasing a press note , that keeping in view the guidelines laid down in order to curb the menace of drug trafficking carried out by various elements in the society, they were able to achieve a breakthrough, when under the able guidance of Dr. Rajot Grewal IPS , SP Rural, and Sh. Gurbakshish Singh PPS, DSP Derabassi Insp. Sukhbir Singh, SHO PS Lalru , along with his police team apprehended a man on 20/04/2021 while patrolling , from the bus stop , near Hanuman Mandir , Lalru the man named Baldev Singh, S/o Bakhshish Singh R/o Vill Behrampur Bet, Ps Chamkaur Sahib , Distt Ropar, Who was carrying a bag on his shoulders, was caught when found suspicious .The Contents of the bag were searched in the presence of Sh. Rupinderjit Singh, DSP PBI/NDPS, Distt SAS Nagar, from which 23, 100 tablets of lomotil were obtained.An FIR no 69, dt 20/04/21, u/s 22/61/85 NDPS Act, PS lalru, was registered against the accused, following which he was arrested .The arrested accused was then produced in the court of Hon’ble Sh. Jagmeet Singh , JMIC Derrabassi and police remand was obtained on 21/04/21.During interrogation, the accused revealed that he works as a vegetable under in his village, and he had acquired these tablets from a medical store in vill. Baroli , Meerut Road, U.P.
He also revealed that he used to consume these tablets himself, and wanted to sell these tablets to people at his vegetable shop, but was caught by the police.Also it came to fore that the accused was previously a constable in the punjab police , and for some reason was terminated from service in 2008, after which he became a vegetable under .A Thorough interrogation of the accused is underway, and we are hopeful of more revelations .
