Mission Fateh : Sidhwan Canal Waterfront Project To Be An Eco Friendly Project: Bharat Bhushan Ashu

Ludhiana : In a bid to save our environment and under Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today informed that the Sidhwan Canal Waterfront Project would be an eco-friendly project, under which all lights would be solar powered, a large number of medicinal and fruit trees have been planted, along with other amenities. He informed this while inspecting the ongoing work on the project today. He was also accompanied by MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu, besides senior officials of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd and Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.Mr Ashu informed that the Sidhwan Canal Waterfront project envisages development of the stretch along the Sidhwan canal, starting from Pakhowal Road till Ludhiana MC Zone D office near Ferozepur Road, as an open public space for citizens of the city. The total cost of this project is Rs 4.75 crore. The total length of this stretch is approximately 1100 metres and the width varies from 20–22 metres.x .He said that this project would be eco friendly in nature and they plan to develop it as a picnic spot for the city residents.He informed that this project includes developing a green belt, dedicated cycling track, playing zone, dedicated footpath along canal, sitting areas, wall climbing activities etc. In the second phase, Sidhwan Canal (from Pakhowal Road to Dugri Road) would be developed. He further informed that green belts, plus dedicated cycle track on both sides, double road along canal, etc would be developed here.
