Only Punjabi party Akali Dal can defeat BJP, AAP and Congress and emerge victorious in 2022 elections : Sukhbir Singh Badal

Pathankot : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today the SAD, which was the only party of Punjabis, would defeat all the three governments it was pitted against be it the central government led BJP, AAP led Delhi government or the Congress led Punjab government.“Punjabis will not let outsiders govern them and will impose trust in the SAD which represents regional aspirations. Just like Mamta Bannerjee was successful in West Bengal, we will also defeat all the three forces pitted against us to emerge victorious in 2022”, Mr Badal told newsmen after addressing a massive gathering of the Hindu community in favour of Raj Kumar Gupta in Sujanpur. Earlier thousands of urbanites welcomed the SAD President’s road show upon entry at Sujanpur with profuse garlanding and petal showering. Answering another question, the SAD President said the empty chairs at events being presided over by chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi were a testament to the popularity of both Channi and the Congress party. “The countdown of the Congress has started and so has their frustration due to which you are witnessing the infighting in the party. This will lead to self destruction of the Congress party in the coming days”, Mr Badal said.The SAD President also took AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal to task asking him to tell Punjabis why he had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court to close down four thermal plants situated in Punjab. He said the AAP government had similarly filed affidavits demanding criminal cases be registered against farmers of Punjab for burning the stubble residue.

“Kejriwal also stands for handing over the river waters of Punjab to Haryana and Delhi”. He said even the current drama being enacted by Kejriwal promising Rs 1,000 per month to all women of the State had not cut ice in Punjab. “Punjabis are asking why not one woman in Delhi has received Rs 1,000 per month till now”. He said similarly while Kejriwal was talking about regularizing all contractual employees in Punjab, he is government had not regularized 10,000 contratual employees of Delhi since years.Asserting that the SAD would never ask Punjabis to fill forms like the Congress had done earlier or the AAP was doing now, Mr Sukhbir Badal said “we have always stood by all commitments made in our election manifesto. Be it giving free power to farmers or introducing novel social welfare schemes like the Shagun scheme and the Aata-Daal scheme, all were done immediately after government formation”.Mr Badal said this was the reason why people believed the SAD would implement each and every promise being made to the people now. He said the SAD-BSP alliance government would give an allowance of Rs 2,000 per month to the women head of family of all BPL families in the State. He also announced –“last time we made the State power surplus. This time we will make power cheap. We are committed to giving 400 units of power free of cost per month to all domestic consumers”.

He said besides this the alliance was committed student loans for students as well as 33 per cent reservation in for government school children in colleges in the State. He said traders would be assured life, fire and medical insurance cover of Rs 10 lakh each while young entrepreneurs would be given an interest free loan of Rs 5 lakh.The SAD President also announced that he was committed to follow the core philosophy of maintaining peace and communal harmony as well as brotherhood between all sections of society as done by S Parkash Singh Badal during his five stints as chief minister of the State. He said during the last five years of Congress rule, the party had created divisions in the society which had destroyed the social fabric. “The Congress party has also patronized gangsters who have terrorized trade and industry with their extortionist demands”.The SAD President also participated in a bike rally from Pathankot to Sujanpur which was led by hundreds of motor cycles. He also addressed gatherings at Naushehra Majha Singh in Batala at party leader Ramandeep Singh’s residence and urged everyone to vote and support SAD Batala candidate Sucha Singh Chhotepur and later at Dinanagar to muster support for BSP candidate Kamaljit Chawla. He was accompanied by senior leaders Anil Joshi and Gurcharan Singh Babbehali. He also visited the Shradha Ashram at Shahpur Kandi. EOM
