Phagwara police exposes Extortion Gang- 2 women among 4 arrested

Phagwara : In a major breakthrough, Phagwara police has exposed an “Extortion gang “ which used “Honey trap” method to trap the innocent people to further blackmailed them by clicking porn videos to extort money. Police have arrested 4 persons in that case which includes two women.

Mr. Rajbachan Singh Sandhu , SSP kapurthala said that under the guidance of Harinderpal Singh SP SD Phagwara and Sarwan Singh Bal, DSP SD Phagwara, the district police got great success when Jatinder Kumar, SHO Satnampura and SI Amandeep Kumar SHO City Phagwara held joint operation against this gang.

Police has arrested Ramandeep Sharma, Amandeep Kaur, Chader Bhan and Rajiv Sharma who used to trap innocent people and clicked their porn videos and blackmailed & extorted them.

The said accused extorted Rs. 3 lakh from Pandit Shankar r/o Gali No 7 Kot Rani & a Gold Ring, a Silver Bangle and Rs 7000/- & they blackmailed the Kaviraj Pandit too.They extorted Rs 50 thousand from Pandit Tripathy by on dated 13.06.2022.

The FIR 67 dated 16.06.2022 u/s 327, 347, 365, 387, 120-B, 34 PS Satnampura has been registered against the said accused and the recoveries have been made from Ramandeep Sharma (Rs 52000/-), Amandeep Kaur (Rs 48000/-), Chander Bhan (Rs 55000/- & Silver Ring), Rajiv Sharma (65,000/- & 01 Gold Ring & 01 Silver Ring).

The master mind of racket was Rajiv Sharma who wanted to obstruct the astrology job of the Pandits by trapping them into honey trap.This is pertinent to mention that duo of women are from Jalandhar and Amritsar. These women were staying on the rental home at Manav Nagar, Hadiyabad Phagwara.

The police has got 4 days of police remand so that the proper interrogation would be conducted and the rest accused would also be added on their disclouser statement and would try to find out that how many victims have been extorted and blackmailed by the said accused.
