Vishesh Sarangal advocates to expedite covid vaccination and adequate arrangements for dengue prevention

Kapurthala : Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr. Vishesh Sarangal today reviews the Covid vaccination and dengue prevention in the district. During a meeting with the Civil Surgeon, District Immunization Officer, all SMOs and other officials, the Deputy Commissioner said that more efforts should be made to complete the 100 % vaccination of the entire eligible population so that the spread of Covid could be stopped completely.It may be mentioned here that more than 12 lakh doses of covid vaccine have been administered in the district, under which over 90% of the population has been given first dose and over 82% of the population has been given second dose.

He said that during vaccination special attention should be given to 12 to 14 year age group and 15 to 17 year groups by organising special camps in educational institutions.Deputy Commissioner also directed to make adequate arrangements for the prevention of dengue in the district. He directed the Civil Administration to ensure the cleanliness of all government offices, large buildings, public places and places where dengue larvae could breed before the monsoon season. He said that the teams of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Health Department should launch a joint awareness campaign on prevention of Dengue. Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included SDM Kapurthala Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderbir Kaur, District Immunization Officer Randeep Singh and all SMOs.
