CCPCR conducting POCSO training to create safety net in schools

Chandigarh :To deal with various child abuses and providing protective environment in schools, CCPCR has started an awareness drive in all the schools. Team of Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights headed by Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR along with final year law interns from Panjab University, Chandigarh made visits to various Government High schools and Government Senior Secondary Schools to impart knowledge about POCSO Act, monitoring of Legal Literacy Clubs and Child Friendly Committees in schools.
Regarding this 14 different groups of interns are visiting different schools every day and will be covering all 96 Government Model Senior Secondary Schools (GMSSS) and Government Model High Schools (GMHS) of U.T. Chandigarh.
Commission has released PANTS Rules brochure also, to be distributed for mass awareness. Chairperson, CCPCR visited Govt. Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS)-35D today and witnessed Mock Parliament & interacted with students also.
At the same time functioning of Legal Literacy Clubs and Child Friendly Committee was also monitored. Interns Mr. Randeep Singh & Tejesh took POCSO sessions with the students and discussed Underwear Rules using term PANTS Rules in detail. Mrs. Harjinder Kaur appreciated the dedication and zeal of interns for their wonderful sessions. Other members of the Commission also visited different schools and inspected the session.
Dr. Monica M Singh visited GHS 24A along with interns Ms. Ravneet and Ms. Prabhneet and interacted with students about safe and unsafe touch and monitored the various activities of Legal literacy clubs and child friendly committees in school.Mr. Kartar Singh, Legal consultant, CCPCR visited GMSSS 38 accompanied by intern Mr. Akash Bharti and disseminate information on child safety and protection as well.
Mrs. Ankita, POCSO Consultant, CCPCR along with intern Mr. Budhdev, Mr. Shivesh visited GMHS 36 D and GMSSS 37D and took POCSO session and witnessed Mock parliament session. Feedback forms on POCSO awareness sessions were also shared with students.
