Deputy Commissioner visits Dera Bassi and Lalru grain mandi, reviews wheat procurement arrangements

Procurement agencies to ensure procurement of wheat within 24 hours of its arrival in the markets

Dera Bassi/Lalru : Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Amit Talwar today visited Dera Bassi and Lalru Grain Mandi this afternoon. On the occasion he reviewed the procurement of wheat and directed the procurement agencies to ensure procurement of wheat within 24 hours of its arrival in the mandis. He also directed to ensure lifting of procured wheat from the mandis at the same time.On the occasion Deputy Commissioner reviewed the wheat procurement arrangements in a meeting with the representatives of Mandi Board, Market Committee, representatives of procurement agencies and arthiyas and directed that fans should be used to reduce the moisture content of wheat.

The Deputy Commissioner directed to procure the wheat with less than 12% moisture content immediately .

He also instructed the officers to ensure proper cleaning of the mandis before purchase.Mr. Amit Talwar also appealed to the farmers to bring their dry produce in the market so that they can get a fair price for their produce and they do not have to sit in the market for long. The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration was vigilant and they had ensured that the farmers who were bringing their produce in the mandis would not face any problem.Also present on the occasion were DFSC Mohali Dr. Kimmi Vaneet Kaur Sethi along with the field staff of department of food supply and Mandi board.
