Commissionerate Police And Ncb Arrest Two With 3000 Tramadol Tablets In Joint Operation

Jalandhar : The Commissionerate Police in joint operation with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Thursday arrested two persons from Basti Bawa Khel locality and seized 3000 tramadol tablets.The accused have been identified Jai Prakash of street No- 4 and Ajay Kumar of New Raj Nagar in Basti Bawa Khel.Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that acting on tip-off, the a team of Commissionerate police led by Sub Inspector Mr Jagdev Singh, ASI Mr Mukesh and Constable Mr Jaspreet and NCB team including Assistant Director Sandeep kumar Yadav, Intelligence Officers Mr JP Singh, Mr Vikash Singh, Mr Sujit kumar laid a trap in Basti Bawa Khel and nabbed the accused following the seizure of the tramadol tablets.He said that NCB has registered a case under sections 8, 22, 25, 29 & 60 NDPS ACT against them and joint teams are carrying out the detailed probe to know the modus operendi and source of the seized tablets.The Commissioner of Police reiterated the firm commitment of the Commisisonerate Police to wipe out drug menace from the district, said that zero tolerance policy was being adopted by the force against this heinous crime. He said that anybody, however affluent he or she may be, indulging in this crime against humanity would not be spared by the Commissionerate PoliceMr. Bhullar said that a strict vigil was being kept by the Commissionerate Police to check the supply of drugs on one hand and eliminating it from roots on the other.
