Divisional commissioner constitutes committee to check the viability of 155 acre land of Golden sandhar sugar mill in Haryana

Committee to have 5 govt. officials and 4 representatives of farmer unions

Kapurthala : Divisional commissioner Jalandhar Mrs Gurpreet kaur Sapra has constituted a committee to evaluate and examine the viability in terms of location of 155 acre land belongs to sandhar sugar mill in fatehabad (Haryana) so that the balance payment of farmers to be made by the mill.

In a meeting with the representatives of farmer unions , Deputy commissioner Mr Vishesh sarangal , representatives of the Sugerfed and the Cane Commissioner, Taxation Deptt, it was decided that in the larger administrative interests of the State and financial interest of the farmers, it will be prudent to first have a survey of the location of 155 acre of land at fatehabad in Haryana to check its viability in terms of location and all other aspects including any mortgage/any other charges which the owner might have to pay to any other agency.

The committee will make a visit to the proposed location on June 13 ,2022 in Distt. Fatehabad and assess it by examining all aspects including the market rate, outstanding dues and the possibility of disposing it in chunks.

It may be mentioned here that the Golden sandhar sugar mill at Phagwara have to pay Rs. 72 crore to the farmers against the purchase of sugarcane.After marathon discussion with the consent of farmers the constituted committee comprised Kulpreet Singh, PCS, SDM Ajnala, Pawan Kumar, Naib Tehsildar, S.B.S. Nagar, Navdeep Singh Bhogal, Tehsildar, Phagwara, Surinder Pal Singh, Kanungo, Phagwara and Jaspinder Singh, Patwari, Phagwara.

Besides that The committee will be accompanied by the four representatives of the Kisan Unions, the names of which will be provided to the Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala by the Kisan Unions.The Officers so deputed shall get in touch with the officers of the Revenue Deptt. of Sub Tehsil Bhuna, Distt. Fatehabad, so as to check the revenue records regarding 155 acre land of Golden Sandhar sugar mill Phagwara , status of agreement to sell and the sale deeds registered in the past in its vicinity to also assess the market rate.

The committee has been asked submit its joint report immediately after the visit .Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Kashmir singh Director sugar Mill, ADC (G ) Ajay Arora , ADC Phagwara Dr Nayan Jassal , assistant commissioner Ranjit singh, Kirpal singh from Bharti Kisan union Doaba , Sohan singh , Baljinder singh , Major singh , Tarsem singh all farmer representatives besides Balwinder singh Doaba Kisan Sangharsh committee etc.
