Mohali Administration holds workshop on Ease of Doing Business

Deputy Commissioner interacts with Industrialists

S.A.S. Nagar : For furthering the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ through implementation of the State Reform Action Plan (SRAP) , Mohali Administration organized a special workshop at District Administrative Complex, under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan.It was informed that the State Reform Action Plan is aimed at easing the regulatory burden on MSMEs in the state by providing enabling provision of self-declaration and also exempting them from certain approvals and inspections for establishment and operations.The industrialists and the entrepreneurs were apprised of the salient features of Ease of Doing Business under the Right to Business Act and the application and approval procedure on the Invest Punjab Business First Portal. Directions of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) GoI for State Reform Action Plan were shared.They were informed that State Government has simplified and streamlined the process of obtaining all the necessary clearances for setting up the industry, under Right to Business Act, 2020. Under this Act, any entrepreneur who wishes to establish industry in an industrial focal point / industrial area or in an industrial zone designated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, GoP has to submit his proposal to the Punjab Government’s Invest Punjab Business First Portal.
Apply online and get the relevant approvals / NOCs through a single contact. All the approvals are time bound (In 3 days for industries established in Focal Point and in 15 days for industries established in Industrial Zone). This approval is valid for 3 years, in the meanwhile the industrialist can get a regular approval.Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for sharing concerns, feedback and suggestions from the entrepreneurs and industry associations so as to evolve as per the needs of the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem in the District.Queries of the concerned about industry specific issues were satisfactorily resolved.The workshop saw attendance and participation from Mohali Industrial Association, Dera Bassi Industrial Association, Chanalo Industrial Association, Chamber of Industry Mohali and various industrialists and entrepreneurs from the District .General Manager, District Industries Center Mohali , Business Facilitator Officer along with representatives from KPMG, Power Department, Pollution Control Board, Excise and Taxation ,Labor, Fire , Factories, Town Planning and Municipal Corporation participated in the workshop.
