DC Orders Sealing Of Four Localities To Contain Covid-19 Pandemic

Jalandhar : In its fight against Covid-19 pandemic in Jalandhar, The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Saturday directed the sealing of four localities of the city where more than five Corona virus positive cases have been surfaced.The four areas including Mohindru Mohalla, Teacher Colony, Gopal Nagar and Friends Colony near Maqsudan have been declared as micro-containment zones by the district administration.Divulging the details, The Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that these four areas would be completely sealed as per the protocols of the health department and the list of the micro-containment zones would be revised according to the reports of the health department. Mr. Thori said that these micro and containment zones have been declared by SDMs following jointly meeting with concern ACPs and SMOs to contain the spread of the Corona Virus more effectively at the ground root level.He said that these zones would be strictly contained to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr Thori told that as containment zones have been declared, the door to door surveys will be carried out by health workers in these areas.The Deputy Commissioner said that joint teams of Civil, Health and Police departments would supervise the activities in these containment zones.Mr. Thori also told the district administration would carry out awareness activities in these localities for educating the people about precautions to be followed to keep the Covid-19 pandemic at bay.
